Hearing about the Widow Wyile’s love of lines
a raccoon and skunk
stopped
upon her lawn to ask
what is all this hype
about the fashion value of stripes
simple
parallels?
there is never just the one
said Skunk
they go together
from end to end
yes said Racoon
and around every corner
curve sharp or
gentle
they do bend
undulate
yes exactly
each individual one
responds according to its terrain
but soon they spread
back out
no gripe
but then those two
too
are of a stripe
