as all mammals are
for their first weeks
pinniped pups
next live on shrimp
swimming in the salty sea
and sunning on stone shelves
or undulating up to rest on beaches
growing   feeding   swimming
sunning   playing   diving
swimming   feeding   growing
then finally fishing
and singing in the shallows
with their kin
soulful

about salt   sun   waves
ocean mist   fog  rain  and rollers
currents  winds   sleet   snow  and  ice
clever jokes    funny pranks
fast fish
            fast flippers
floating asleep in the waters
with their eyes closed
and loving their bountiful
