Far above the open palms
of their five-lobed broad green foliage
arise handsome-sized seeming-plates
of delicate crepe
bosomed siblings emerging
                       one a
   top
                   the
             other
from tightly
  wound pointed buds
            a spiral choir
               standing TALL
    at the back of the Widow
Wyile’s parental exuberance
            of resplendent colour
                 riotous garden
growing wilder this transitional summer 

their perfect pale-pink skirt edges
deepen to ruby around the five-pointed
creamy-white centre cup star
                        with spilling pollen rich pistil
            mallow family marvels
               heavenly hollyhocks
sway in the breeze quietly crooning
            their purpose
                        their glory!

in the back row by the cedar hedge
    masts of complementary saucer bunting
amid a rudbeckia sea
    the blooms sing their dainty rollicking
summer song ever higher into the sky
radiant living saucers tickling their beholders
         in gradations of soul-pleasing pinks
