A cosy tuque the acorn seems
with an elegant point
and a fancy folded brim
until it comes apart into
one fairy plate
one flat bottomed fall nut
seed that swells next spring
   bursts   its    shell
its meat tinged green and pink
all this, just think
is the beginning
of another mighty oak
revered by many
including the Druids
held sacred for strength
            patience
courage    endurance
its one weakness
    inflexibility
