Two oh

is the year
to know
much more
to grow
so bold
we glow
brighter every ‘our
sense of honour
sense of calm
join together
to know

you can

we can become
bright life giving
like the sun
two by two
to twenty-four
we join hands
we join hearts and souls

sing two oh
two four
calmly stand
honour the land
to gather
to-gether
all good living beings

ground your feet
raise your spirits
the shift is here
and we are it

much more
we shine
heart lights
growing anew

ii.                           exegesis

How ever have so many years
passed since Y2K
closed off the previous century
wonders the Widow Wyile
in a relatively snowless January
eleven and a half months
before the first quarter of the current
century that manifests
an ever greater 

split

between devolving and mayhem
            the sad lot of captured souls
and trance ending human creativity
rejoicing in human connectivity
           soaring bright starseed radiating
           tenacious as dandelion clocks
intentionally celebrating
the fecund potentiality of exchange
between breathing animals and
growing plants and soil regeneration
miracle of cycles that feed life 

Twenty-four is a whole
two dozen reasons to step on through
the daze that locks us down
into I don’t/can’t care despair
a sad space of pointlessness
no one who loves the light
will choose 

Twenty-four is more than twenty
is more than a plenty big door
for gumption boots to walk
                                                skip!
            or             l  e  a  p       on   through
to ask yourself
some lardy questions
like just what kind of beans
you really want to bake
how much you really like
that kale that’s in your shake
how much more baloney
you can really bear
and more precisely
when the time has come
for truth
            that will
                             transform
the years of abounding foundling fears
into a plenitude of beneficent
joyous reverential peace

Let’s love good human change
into being
full on I-am-being
so we can walk on through the chaos
and come out shining new 

don’t protest how hard it will be
that’s what ‘24’s gonna be for
so get a wiggle on
go right on through
